CASE DESIGNThe stylish case is as compact as possible with carp rod retaining features.
Both sides of the case are tongued and grooved to minimize the ingress of moisture, we have added further protection by coating the Printed Circuit Board with varnish.
The case is fitted with its own battery compartment which enables easy change of the standard PP3 battery, the best available in our opinion for reliability.
A slot is provided for fitting a standard Isotope for nighttime viewing, although with our ultra bright LEDs, which light the bankside up, most Anglers, think this is unnecessary.
The sensitivity switch is combined with the on/off switch. When the switch is in the middle position the alarm is switched off.Moving the switch to the up position, switches the alarm on in the LOW sensitivity mode, this gives approx., 6mm of line movement before the alarm will indicate a bite.
Moving the switch to the down position switches the alarm on in the HIGH sensitivity mode, this gives approx., 3mm of line movement before the alarm will indicate a bite.
We recommend that for normal fishing, you use the Low setting on the alarm, (6mm of line movement). For days when the fish are shy and you need to detect those line twitches, use the High setting on the alarm (3mm of line movement).
EXTENSION SOCKETS on the bite alarm.
We have provided three extension sockets which should cover all your needs.SOCKET E
, Connect via this socket to our Extension Boxes the GF 4a or GF 4t, both will provide visual and sound indication of a bite to another location, Bivey etc.We recommend that you use the
GF 4a, as this will provide automatically the exact tone setting of each GFM carp bite alarm being used.Our other model the
GF 4t will allow you to set one tone of your choice regardless of how many GFM bite alarms are being used.You may also use this socket E to connect to other manufacturers Extension Boxes, but you will not be able to reproduce the exact tone settings of the GFM carp bite alarms.
If you plug any of our
bobbins lights into socket E each time the GFM carp alarm indicates a bite, the light inside the bobbin will flash on.
SOCKET D
, This socket is only available on GF carp bite alarms and gives you the opportunity to fish 2 rods at the same time using only one GF bite alarm.Fish one rod in the conventional manner with the rod resting on top of GF bite alarm, (for catching CARP etc). As the line moves, the bite alarm will indicate a bite by latching on the LED for approx. 20 seconds and sounding off via the speaker while the fishing line is still moving.
Place the other rod by the side on a separate bank stick, with our special
drop off lead plugged into socket D (for catching PIKE or CATFISH.)The fishing line is pushed into the adjustable tension clip at the end of the drop off lead.
When the fish runs with the bait, the line is pulled from the clip and the bite alarm will indicate a bite by latching on the LED and sounding off via the speaker.
SOCKET B
, This socket allows you to connect accessories that do not have a power source of their own. We supply a bobbin light in matching LED colours to your alarm that lights up every time your alarm indicates a bite.Any accessory plugged into socket B will receive power for approx, 15-20 seconds each time the GFM bite alarm indicates a bite.
If you have difficulties with alarms waking you up at night, try plugging our extension box (model GF 4t only) into socket B, this will give you a continuous sound output for 15-20 seconds each time the GFM indicates a bite.
Other accessories are available from different manufactures that will also function with this socket.
